Kos består af alpakafibre, der er kombineret med uld og blæst til en nylonstrømpe. Dette resulterer i en blød, let og airy garn.
Alpaca er cirka tre gange varmere end almindelig uld og isolerer dermed godt. Fiberen er hul og åndbar, så den føles varm i kolde temperaturer og kølig i varme. Ulden tilsat denne blanding giver robusthed og volumen. Både alpaca og uld har gode varmeregulerende egenskaber.
